FAQs about Remote Measurements

Remote Measurements FAQs

Do I need to make an appointment after taking my remote measurements?
Once you see the “You’re all set. Your scans have been submitted” screen, you’ve successfully completed the process. The “Virtual Try-On” and “Make an Appointment” prompts do not connect to Visionist. We will contact you directly to confirm receipt of your scan and let you know your eyewear is in progress.

How will I know that you’ve received my measurements?
Your measurements are automatically sent to us once you complete your scan. We will send a confirmation email to let you know that your glasses are being processed.

What if I’m unsure if I scanned myself correctly?
We will review your scan once we receive it and will reach out if we need additional information. If you need assistance taking your measurements, we’re here to help! Contact a Visionist via live chat, email, or schedule a 15-minute appointment for help with remote measurements. We’ll gladly walk you through the process.

What does Topology do with my data after I’ve completed the scan?
Your data protection is a top priority. For more information, please review Topology’s Privacy Policy.

What devices are compatible with Topology?
Topology is only compatible with the following Apple devices:

  • iPhone X, XS, XS Max, XR, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, 12 Mini
  • iPad Pro (third and fourth generation)

What if I don’t have an Apple device or don’t feel comfortable with the technology?
No worries! If you can’t take remote measurements using the Topology app, we can still get the information needed for precise prescription glasses. Just provide details of where you bought your last pair of glasses, and we’ll retrieve your measurements.

Alternatively, you can take a selfie with a forward-facing posture while holding a credit card horizontally in front of your mouth. Ensure the top edge of the card is level and send the image to us via live chat or email. We’ll handle the rest and confirm when your glasses are in progress.

I ordered non-prescription frames. Do I still need to complete remote measurements?
While remote digital measurements are highly recommended for providing a customized fit and lens cutting, they are not mandatory for non-prescription frames. Rest assured, all orders receive expert alignment and inspection by our Visionists before shipping.
